Cabinet OKs bill to replace MCI, reform medical education

The Cabinet approved the long-awaited National Medical Commission (NMC) Bill, 2019 that aims to set up a National Medical Commission to replace the Medical Council of India (MCI) and usher comprehensive reforms in the medical education sector. The bill, aimed at overhaul of medical education in India, seeks to repeal Indian Medical Council Act 1956.
